在"Violent Is the Word for Curly"這部1938年的喜劇短片中，三個傻里傻氣的臭皮匠不小心在加油站工作時炸毀了一輛車，車上載著三名前往米爾德女子學院的外國教授。他們逃離事故現場，又因故換上教授們的衣服，誤打誤撞來到女子學院，結果被誤認為是新來的教授，並立即被介紹給學生們認識，一介紹完，就有一位女學生立即向新教授提問，在這三位假教授被揭穿前，其中一位臭皮匠靈機一動，即興在課堂上教女孩們唱 “ Swingin' the Alphabet ” (搖擺字母)。
