go off - to make a sound

(動詞變化:go - went - gone)

My alarm clock goes off at 6 a.m.

Linda was sleeping when the fire alarm went off in her home.

"Oh, no! The alarm didn't go off. I'm gonna be late for work."

"Push the button, now the buzzer will go off when the clothes are dry."

"When we're upstairs and the alarm goes off, we just slide down this pole and presto, we're ready for action."

"All ears, children. I want to show you the school safety alarm. We only pull it if there's an emergency. If the alarm bell goes off, it will get everyone's attention. When we hear it, we form a straight line and march right outside. Let's practice."
