"I wish I could..." means I want to but I am not able to.

當你想表達「真希望我可以，但沒辦法」的時候，就用 "I wish I could" 開頭。

I wish I could help. -> 言下之意就是我幫不上忙。

"I've never seen + 人/事/物 (before)"，表示「我(以前)從沒見過此人/事/物」。除了客觀表示「我沒看過…」的事實，也常常用在讚嘆，用驚訝的語氣說出。

It/That sounds like + 名詞 或 子句

表示「聽起來似乎、好像是」某種聲音，

或是聽到對方說了什麼，而產生一種想法。

It sounds like a good idea.

聽起來是個好主意。

Have you ever heard of + 人　你聽說過此人嗎？

Have you ever heard of + 事物　你聽說過此事物嗎？

Hey, have you ever heard of "Game of Thrones"?

can't help but + 原V，表示「不得不；禁不住；忍不住」做某事。

也可以換成 can't help + Ving，意思相同。

※ 注意有 but 加原形動詞，沒有 but 則用動名詞。

I can't help but laugh every time I think of that.

= I can't help laughing every time I think of that.

使用時機一：表達自己後悔當初應該要做某事，但實際上卻沒做。

使用時機二：替對方感到惋惜，認為對方當初應該要做某事的，但實際上卻沒做。

使用時機三：指責對方，認為對方當初應該要做某事的，但實際上卻沒做。

I should've done that.

我該那麼做的。(表後悔)

When was the last time you saw her?

你上次看到她是什麼時候？

你上次洗手是什麼時候？

wonder → 疑惑，想知道

Jessie wasn't so happy at the meeting. I wonder what's wrong with her?

潔西在開會的時候不是很開心，不曉得她怎麼了。

I wonder who sent me these flowers?

"I was wondering" 常用在客氣地詢問或請求某事，意思如同"I would like to know" or "I'm curious about" 表示「我想知道；我很好奇」。

之所以用過去式，是因為在請求之前、開口詢問之前就想知道了，if 後接主詞+過去式動詞，表示一種假設。

例句：

I have some plans for this weekend and I was wondering if you wanted to come with me.

我週末有一些計畫，我想知道你想不想和我一起去。

would like → 想要 (比 want 來得客氣、禮貌)

you → 你(們)

Would you like to do sth? 常用在鼓勵對方做某件事，但是是用詢問的方式，不強求地問對方「想不想要」或「願不願意」做這件事。
