open up 其實等同於 open，表示「打開」某物。例如：開門、開窗、打開衣櫃、拆開禮物、張開嘴巴…等等。
要說「開門」時，除了"Open the door." 也可以說"Open up the door." 或直接說 "Open up." 但不會只說 "Open."
只要對方知道你說的"open up"是打開什麼，就不一定要說出你要對方打開的那個東西。
